MARCH 2018 - Bisson Fortin architecture + design part of the winning team for the REM project
Bisson Fortin architecture + design part of the winning design team of the Réseau Express Métropolitain Project (REM)! This completely electrified light rail network will be linked to 26 new stations & will be the 4th largest in the world. The REM will be the biggest public transport project in Quebec in 50 years!


NOVEMBER 2014 - A GREEN CLSC AT BENNY FARM
The construction of the new Notre-Dame-de-Grâce CLSC in Montreal West is now completed and is on track towards obtaining a LEED-NC Gold certification. The $22.5 million investment encompasses four floors for a total of 6,300 square meters and is owned by the «Société Immobilière du Québec» on behalf of the Cavendish Health and Social Services Centre. The architectural consortium of Bisson Fortin & associate Architects and ABCP Architecture is jointly with Engineering firms Bouthillette Parizeau (electromechanical), SDK (structural and civil) and General ContractorCAL Construction, contributed to ensure a successful project.

AUGUST 2014 - AN IMPORTANT MANDATE CONSISTING IN THE STUDY OF THE EXTENSION OF THE BLUE LINE
In consortium with GJB Architects, part of the larger interdiscplinary consortium PL5, BISSON FORTIN ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN  was selected by the Metropolitan Transportation Agency AMT for the completion of the pre-project design of stations, tunnels and garages for the extension of the Montreal Metro's blue line.
This mandate is an addition to numerous others, obtained by the firm, which positions itself as one of the leaders in professional architectural services for public transit in Quebec.
This major project will eventually lead to future phases of the construction of five new metro stations and various auxiliary structures, rectification substations, workshop and garages.


JUNE 2014 - DANIELLE BISSON AP LEED BD+C ACCREDITATION
Congratulations to Danielle Bisson, associated architect at the firm, who has received the AP LEED BD+C certification given by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

She is the second professional to obtain LEED certification at the firm and will join her experience to the one of AP LEED architect Patrick Lavoie. The AP LEED BD+C title confirms that an individual has acquired an in-depth knowledge of green building practices and is specialized in the LEED BD+C building rating system.

LEED accreditation is a symbol of quality desired by clients seeking for professional work at the best, up to date criterias of the green building industry.


NOVEMBER 2012 - TFP IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT A NEW ANIMAL SERVICES CENTER, IN LAVAL
The City of Laval has retained the firm's services to prepare a technical & functional program (TFP) for tender design-built mode for the construction of its future Animal Services Centre.

The requirements are high, in that TFP must demonstrate a concern for innovation in the field of animal services in Canada while meeting the requirements of the new P-42 law, which is a first in Quebec.

It must be said that the firm has not achieved its first TFP. In fact, more than a hundred have been completed over the years. This highly specialized expertise is increasingly appreciated by our many customers who rely on the firm to obtain rigorous planning of their pre-projetcs while reducing the unexpected and ensuring the transparency of the process for the subsequent phases.


OCTOBER 2013 - BFAA TEAM SELECTED TO INTERGRATE STM'S METRO INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT OFFICE
Member of the GJB consortium, the firm will integrate the STM Project Office to carry out the following projects: the first phase of the Reno-Infrastructures program that includes the major renovation work proposed to the Berri-UQAM station; major renovation work to the McGill, Guy-Concordia, Beaubien and Crémazie stations. Also included is smaller renovation work to Angrignon, Prefontaine, De L'Église, Jolicoeur and Honoré-Beaugrand stations.

BISSON FORTIN AND ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS has worked in the public transportation field for 37 years and has contributed in the past to the construction of metro stations and renovation work within the Réno-Stations projects. It has maintained its expertise by contributing to the extension of the line 2 of the laval metro and currently has a mandate for the study of the extension of metro lines 4 and 5 in addition to the maintenance of STM assets.


DECEMBER 2012 - $50M PROJECT FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF SERVICES AT THE CHRTR SAINTE-MARIE PAVILION
The firm continues its momentum in the health sector and obtains a mandate to redeploy services to the Pavilion Sainte-Marie of the CHRTR. This project involves the construction of a new five-story building housing four care units (120 beds) and the redevelopment of various services throughout the hospital.

From the beginning of the project, Michel Pellerin / Bisson Fortin and associated architects have worked in a integrated design mode within the project office located in the CSSS for an approximate period of 18 months, promoting ongoing collaboration between architects, engineers and owner.

The work will be divided into several phases and building lots and will be completed in 2016.


JULY 2012 - INSTITUT DE RÉABILITATION GINGRAS-LINDSAY-DE-MTL: A NEW PARTNERSHIP
BISSON AND ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS FORTIN is pleased to contribute in the years to come to various projects in it's open mandate with the Gingras-Lindsay Institute, the largest rehabilitation center in the country.

With its solid expertise in asset maintenance and functional rehabilitation work on various installations in the health sector, BISSON AND ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS FORTIN has grown accustomed in carrying out these types of mandates on behalf of various health institutions and rehabilitation hospitals in Quebec.

MARCH 2011 - BFAA WILL CONTRIBUTE TO A 16 M$ LEED SILVER MEDICAL CLINIC PROJECT
Defence Construction Canada and the Department of National Defence has granted the consortium Amiot Bergeron / Bisson Fortin, a warrant for the expansion and reorganization of a medical clinic and dental unit at the Canadian Forces Base in Valcartier, Quebec. Richard A. Fortin will be the project manager for an integrated team that also includes the engineering firm BPR inc. of Quebec City. At an estimated cost of 16M $, the building will be designed to obtain LEED NC / EB Silver rating. The completion is scheduled for fall 2014.


JANUARY 2011 - THE ''CENTRE JEUNESSE DE LAVAL'' HAS GIVEN A FIVE YEAR OPEN MANDATE TO BFAA
Like many institutional clients, The ''Centre Jeunesse de Laval''  has given Bisson Fortin & associate architects an open mandate for a period of 5 years, giving it the opportunity to fulfill various projects in all of it's facilities. Located in numerous locations in Laval, the ''CJL'' helps struggling families and protects children that have been abused, neglected or experiencing behavior problems. The firm is proud to work with this new client.


BISSON FORTIN ET ASSOCIATE ARCHITECTES IS SAD TO ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF THE FIRM'S FOUNDER
Bisson Fortin & associate architects is sad to annouce the passing of the firm's founder, architect Claude Bisson, january 1st 2011. He leaves in mourning his family, his friends and especially two of his chidren, Christian Bisson and Danielle Bisson, associate architects in the firm.


OCTOBER 2010 - RICHARD A. FORTIN HAS BEEN APPOINTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE AAPPQ
The general assembly of the ''Association des architectes en pratique privée'' (AAPPQ) has elected Richard A. Fortin, associate architect at BFAA, as representative of the Laval-Laurentides region executive office . The AAPPQ, regrouping approximately 360 architecture firms of various sizes, is the organization that defends the interests of architecture pratices across Quebec.
